2014 Erin Condren Planner

1/15/14

I jumped on the Erin Condren Life Planner train two years ago and am now on my 3rd planner. Obviously I'm hooked! I've always had a planner- I vividly remember writing in my school given Emerson Middle School planner in 7th grade. Even though I'm not in school at the moment I still use it everyday and don't know what I'd do without it. I just could never switch to a digital planner. I like colored pens too much ;)

Anywho here's a look at my new planner and the items I use with it-

I'm loving turquoise lately! This year I went with the Zig Zag pattern and added a quote that I really like "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... It's learning to dance in the rain." The owl pouch is from Barnes and Noble.

What's inside the owl pouch- a notebook, pens {sharpie pens are my favorite at the moment}, a pouch with all of the EC stickers, post-it notes, white-out, and an eraser!

I have no idea why this photo is vertical when it's saved as horizontal... any ideas?
Here's what the weeks typically look like- I keep track of my work schedule & pay, appointments, Duke's grooming needs, TV shows, errands, and activities.

A closer look

When I was in school I had a color coded system, but I don't think it's necessary at this point. I love the 4 sections- morning, afternoon, night, and the lines at the bottom. It keeps me on task and breaks up my day. I have plenty of room to make little notes when needed. I definitely think they're worth every penny of the $60 price tag!

How do you keep yourself on track? Do you prefer digital or paper planners?

What's in our Bathroom {WIMW Vol. 12}

10/30/13

I've mentioned before that Thomas and I are currently living with his parents and the plan is to stay there until August. The main reason for this is to save money and therefore hopefully avoid taking out even more student loans once we're both back in school next Fall. It's been a huge blessing and we're so thankful that we even have this opportunity, but it isn't exactly easy. Being married and not having your own place is hard. Leaving your perfect little apartment to move in with your parents is hard. It's as simple as that. BUT we're both staying focused on the big picture {some days are easier than others} and making the best of the current situation.

We bought the couch and set up a "living room" in the basement so that we could have our own space, made the bedroom feel as much as ours as we could, and getting to what this post is actually about-making the half bath "ours." This living situation has forced us to simplify our belongings in a lot of ways {don't even get me started on the closet}, especially in the bathroom/beauty/products department.

Since it's the half bath it is s-m-a-l-l so I had to get creative with how we could maximize the space and here's what I came up with-

The bottom shelf has my straightner, blow dryer, extra cottons, and garbage bags.

Two plastic 3 drawer organizers, utilizing the tops of said organizers, and using travel sized items to save on space. Here's a look at what's inside the drawers-

On top is T's daily supplies, the first drawer holds dental & shaving related items, second drawer has my hair items, and the bottom drawer has my face supplies.

The other container is my makeup- on top is my brushes, deodorant, & hair products, first drawer holds face products, second drawer holds eye, and the bottom drawer holds lip.

Counter top just holds toothbrushes {with Steripods to protect them}, glass, & soap.

Newest organization addition- this little tray and containers that hold qtips, floss picks, and face cottons.
 I need to wipe these down

So there you have it... what we keep in our tiny bathroom and how we organize it :)

What's in my Car {WIMW Vol. 11}

10/2/13

I got my first car this past May {yes first... when I was 22 years old} and ever since then I've tried my best to keep it as clean as possible. So here's what I keep in my car to help me achieve that-

The compartment in between the two front seats holds a pen, my iPod, car registration, and insurance.

I keep a car charging port accessible for those times when I need to charge my phone {I always have a charger in my purse}

On the passenger side floor I keep a little container from Dollar General for garbage {tissues, straw wrappers, ect} and I keep a reusable shopping bag in the door compartment.

The glove compartment holds an on-the-go makeup kit, GPS, necessities pouch, and car manual.

The necessities pouch holds a straw, tissues, bandaids, stain remover wipes, antibacterial wipes, dog treats, tampon, lint roller, bug spray, hand sanitizer, floss, and Scentportables.

The makeup pouch holds... makeup :)

All I keep in the truck is my reusable shopping bags and a gift for the husband that I don't want him to find ;)

How do you keep your car clean/organized?

What's in my Gym Bag {WIMW Vol. 10}

9/25/13

Today I'm posting what I keep in my gym bag/my favorite workout items. I will be completely honest and say that in no way am I a "fitness junkie". I don't even like working out 85% of the time, but I'm trying to change that and that's all that matters right? Right. And how am I trying to do that? I am currently taking a Best Body Workout class every Monday {which kicked my butt this week!} and I'm helping with my cousins soccer team twice a week{yesterday I was a fill in defender during a scrimmage.. I honestly can't move today lol}. Maybe one day I'll become a member of a gym or work out everyday, but right now it isn't happening. Enough background talk... onto the bag!

I got this bag as a birthday present from my grandparents and I love it! It is HUGE and well it's bright pink ;)

A peak inside when it's all filled up.

Now onto the contents...
The bag comes with a detachable wristlet that I keep my Garmin Forerunner 10, a snack, and my iPod/headphones as well.

Since I go straight from work I pack a change of gym clothes {all from Target- LOVE the C9 line}, my favorite Wrightsock socks, tennis shoes, and Sanuk Yoga Mat flip flops!

You know me and my necessities pouches ;) In this one I have face wipes, chapstick, hand sanitizer, deodorant and deodorant wipes, advil, hair brush, extra hair ties and clips, headband, band aids, and a pen.

A little pouch {made out of a yoga mat!!} holds my strap.

Random things- hat for soccer practice, towel, and gloves.

Can't forget a water bottle, wallet, keys, and iPod {which should've been in the wristlet}.

These are the things that are always in my bag, but if I need something else {yoga mat, resistance bands, ect} I'll add them as needed.

What do you keep in your gym bag?
What are your favorite workouts?

Next weeks post is what I have in my car!

What's in my Fall Purse {WIMW Vol. 9}

9/18/13

I have always been a "purse girl"- meaning that purses are my favorite accessories, any kind of bag to be honest. In high school I bought a new purse every 3 months or so until Thomas bought me my first "baby"- a beautiful brown Coach shoulder bag {which I still have and love despite Duke getting to one of the straps}. And I've used that purse every fall since 2009. After using a crossbody type purse all summer long I knew that I wanted to use one for fall too, but I couldn't justify buying another expensive bag. So of course trusty Target came to the rescue ;) And at $24.99 you just can't beat it!

1. Phone charger 2. Wallet 3. Phone 4. Mini emergency kit 5. Sunglasses 6. Electronic wipe 7. Headphones 8. Pens and mini notebook 9. Keys

What's inside the mini emergency kit: 1. Hair ties and bobby pins 2. Nail clippers and file 3. Deodorant towelette 4. Medicine 5. Bandaids 6. Shout wipes 7. Floss
{This photo is terrible and made me realize how badly I need to learn how to use my camera}

What do you carry in your purse? I'd love to see! Next week is what I carry in my gym bag.

What's in Duke's bag {WIMW Vol. 7}

9/4/13

I originally planned on posting what I carry in my purse, but I haven't had time to take those pictures yet. So I had to dig up a category that I've already taken the pictures for and that's how this weeks topic is Duke's bag. I will preface this with this: I know that I look like a crazy women, but nothing is more horrible then going somewhere and realizing you don't have what you need. I can't imagine what I'm going to be like when I have a human baby. Watch out LOL

Yes I carry my dog stuff in a VB bag...

 Now onto the contents...
 1. Blanket {Duke LOVES sucking on it} 2. Towel 3. Food & water bowl 4. Toys {LOTS of them} 5. Stake 6 & 7. Treats and poop bags 8. Food bowl and Travel water

I packed this when we took Duke to one of my best friends' birthday party that was hosted at a lake house!

Dog mommies- what do you take when you take your pup with you somewhere?

What's in my Beach/Pool Bag {WIMW Vol. 6}

8/28/13

This week I'm showing what I carry in my beach/pool bag! Unfortunately, Michigan's weather hasn't been very warm this summer so our beach and pool days have been far and few in between. But, we did get to attend a few pool parties these past few weeks!

1. Towel 2. Small wristlet that holds my ID and cash 3. Koozi 4. Sunglasses 5. Towel clips {they hold your towel in place on a lounge chair} 6. Necessities kit 7. Cup/water bottle 8. Entertainment- phone, Nook, & iPod 9. Wet bikini bag w/ clean undies inside

My necessities kit includes:
1. Wet wipes 2. Chapstick with SPF 3. Kleenex 4. Wide tooth comb 5. Hair ties and bobby pins 6. Hand sanitizer 7. Leave-in-conditioner 8. After sun lotion 9. Deodorant towelette

And here's how everything fits in my bag {Guess from last summer}!!

Now who's ready to hit the beach or pool?!

What's in my Work Bag? {WIMW Vol. 5}

8/21/13

I don't know about you, but when I'm going to be away from home for 9+ hours a day I like to take a few things with me. When I worked at the Daycare I got an hour long lunch break and I had to lesson plan during the kiddies nap. Some of these things might not be relevant at my new job, but only time will tell. So for now I'm going to show you what I took to the daycare and what I assume I'll be taking to my nannying job.

1. Phone charger 2. Pens/Whiteout 3. Water bottle 4. Notebook and folder 5. Necessities pouch {I'll show what's inside in a future post} 6. Erin Condren planner 7. Nook HD+ 8. Snack

The tote bag that I'm currently using!

What do you girls take with you to work?

What's in my Toiletry Bag? {WIMW Vol. 4}

8/14/13

Adding to last week's what's in my overnight bag today I'm posting what I always carry in my toiletry bag no matter where we are going or how long we're gone for. There are things I may add that are trip specific or if we're staying for a longer period of time.

So here's are the necessities that I take every trip..

The bag I've been using is the Petunia Pickle Bottom Travel Train Case and I love it! It is roomy and has so many different compartments.

 Shower essentials- missing shower gel.

 Hair brush, ties, and pins.

 Face products!

And the rest of the random products! Toothbrush and paste, chap stick, floss, qtips, ect.

What do you take in your toiletry bag?
Do you leave it packed all together or take everything out after a trip?

Next week I'll be posting what I take with me to work :)

If you've participated this week link up here!
