Random Things You Should Know About Me!

Jen tagged me weeks ago and I'm just getting around to posting it.. sorry about that!

1. What is something you thought you would never do or accomplish but have?

Graduating college with honors. School has never came easy to me, I graduated high school with a 2.something GPA and it wasn't something I took very seriously until I started college.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Honestly, I have no idea. Things are so up in the air lately that our lives could go off in plenty of different directions. I just hope that T and I are finished with school and working in fields that we enjoy. And hopefully purchasing our first home.

3. Who is the most influential person in your life?
Without a doubt, my grandma. She has taught me everything that I know.

4. What is the best advice you've received about blogging?
Blog for yourself and not other people. 90% of the reason I even bother with this blog is to have our lives documented somewhere, I don't do it for numbers. But, I don't mind "meeting" new friends either ;)

5. If you had to be stuck in one season for the rest of your life what would it be?
Summer, because I love getting to enjoy and explore Michigan in the summer. Laying on a beach/hammock will always be my favorite thing. Ever.

6. What is your greatest accomplishment in life so far?
Two things- graduating college with honors and our relationship making it through Thomas' Army enlistment/the 3 years apart. It definitely wasn't easy.

7. Who in your immediate family are you most like personality wise?
Hmm I'm not sure, but probably my grandma.

8. What is (or was) your favorite class in school?
In high school I loved English and in college I loved my speech classes {obviously} and Psychology!

9. What is your absolute favorite store to shop at?
Target. Come on... that shouldn't even be a question haha

10. What is the best vacation you've ever been on?
I have two- the Eastern Caribbean cruise I went on with my family in 2006 and our honeymoon cruise.

11. Have you ever left the country? If so, where did you go?
Yes- Canada, Bahamas, and Caribbean.

50 {Random} Facts About Me

I've made lists like this a dozen times before back in the good old days on LiveJournal, but I haven't made on in years and I'm gearing up for my blog revamp that I figured it was the perfect time! I hope you'll learn a little more about me from this list ;)

{01} I was raised by my grandparents since I was 4.
{02} I have one brother, two half-sisters, and one half-brother. That I know of.
{03} I come from a very small family (... well I only talk to one side), yet I married into a huge one.
{04} I have to wear wide shoes, because I have very large bunions.
{05} I have always been extremely active (T. Ball, Gymnastics, Soccer, Track, Cross Country) until college and now I'm trying to get it back.
{06} Football (obviously) and hockey are my favorite sports.
{07} I sucked my thumb until I was 17.
{08} We'd like to have two children one day- a boy and a girl, but we're on a 5 year (minimum) plan.
{09} My dream job would be to be a honeymoon tester.
{10} Purses are my weakness. Not shoes, clothes, ect.
{11} I'm terrible at fashion, meaning I wear the same thing allll the time.
{12} I graduated college with honors.
{13} Exams are very difficult for me, no matter how much I study.
{14} I used to be an extremely picky eater, but slowly that's starting to change (aka I don't put A1 sauce on everything).
{15} My favorite colors are pink and turquoise.
{16} One Tree Hill will always be my favorite show.
{17} I've had the same 3 best friends since I was 5.
{18} I am a huge planner & sometimes it's to a fault.
{19} I've been blogging online since I was 13 (on LiveJournal) and boy are those entries fun to look back on.
{20} Traveling is a huge part of my life and I can't wait to do more of it!
{21} T was my first real boyfriend.
{22} I kissed him first :)
{23} I hate shaving my legs with a passion! ERRR!
{24} I could go to Target everyday and I'll never live more than 15 minutes away from one again!
{25} I am an organizing freak, yet our room is always messy. Ugh.
{26} Carrie Underwood was my first concert in 2008.
{27} Before Duke my only pet was a Beta fish named Squirt.
{28} I make a list for everything... and I usually rewrite them.
{29} I am incredibly inpatient 98% of the time.
{30} I guess you could say that I'm a shopping addict.
{31} I can't stand animation (TV, movies, comics, ect). I just do not like them and never have.
{32} I hate coffee- smell and taste. And it doesn't matter if it's flavored or not.
{33} I used to hate MI, but I've come to love my home state.
{34} My grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease last December and it was one of the hardest, yet best days of my life (we brought home Duke the same day).
{35} Backstreet Boys was my first CD.
{36} I only enjoy reading fiction/novels.
{37} I'm a worry wart... but I'm working on it.
{38} I want to work at the VA and help those that have done so much for me.
{39} I was a army girlfriend/fiance/wife for three years.
{40} My toe nails are always painted. Always.
{41} I am a horrible swimmer.
{42} I have a really good memory on everyday things.
{43} I've only dyed my hair and it turned out terrible.
{44} My hair is in a pony tail 99.5% of the time.
{45} I have to sleep with a fan on no matter what.
{46} My freckles and eyes are my favorite physical features about myself.
{47} I love making and having traditions.
{48} Summer is my favorite season and winter is the bane of my existence.
{49} I get distracted very easily.
{50} I am always acting like a goof.

Even while I wasn't blogging I was reading my blog feed regularly, especially Becky's, and that's why I'm posted twice today in a row. I'm sorry. Anywho, here's some information about me...


How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
I first started blogging on LiveJournal in 2004 and still do, but now I'm finally venturing out into the public blog world. I blog because it's my journal/diary. I always have wanted to keep a paper journal, but so far that hasn't worked out and for some reason it's so much easier online. Other than going from LiveJournal to Blogger I wouldn't say it's changed.

Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
I certainly do! I started off at Schoolcraft Community College where I got my Associates degree in Liberal Arts (basically all my pre-reqs) and then I transferred to Western Michigan University, where I am a senior studying speech-language pathology. By the way.. going to a community college first was by far the best decision I've ever made!

Where have you traveled?
Traveling has always been a huge part of my life thanks to my wonderful Grandparents, so I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of different places. I've been to Canada, Chicago, New York City, Washington DC, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, San Diego, Oregon, Seattle, and I've been on two cruises to the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean. I love to travel and it'll always be a top priority for me!

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
I'd pay off my student loans and then pay for the rest of my degree(s).

What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?

- People not responding to a text/call/message.
- Rude people.
- Crazy drivers/getting cut off

What is your favorite movie?
Hmm, it's probably a tie between Save the Last Dance and Bad Boys II! Two totally different movies lol

What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
Ah, pop. I'm terrible, I drink it wayyyyy too much! I don't like beer or wine and I'm really picky about liquor, I only like fruity drinks! And the only tea I like is Raspberry Iced Tea.

What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
Take a LUSH bubble bath and read on my NOOK, paint my fingers/toes, or bum around on the Internet.

If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
Target! Hands down! I live for that store.

Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
Hmm, I don't get embarrassed too easily and I honestly can't remember the last time I was. The only thing I really remember was in middle school when I slipped on a piece of paper that was on the floor as the final bell rang for the day and everyone in the hallway saw me bite it!

What day would you love to relive again?
The day I picked T up at the airport for R&R! I wouldn't like to have him deployed again, but that was the best feeling I've ever felt so far.

If your life was turned into a movie... what actress would play you?
Hmm... maybe Emma Stone?

What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
My first job was at Michael's craft store as a cashier, which I LOVED. Then I worked at Rite Aid as a sales associate and now I work as a student receptionist at one of the departments at school.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?

Bora Bora, without a doubt! I'd like one of those huts on the water please!

Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
T and I will both be done with school and have successful careers. We'll have a baby on the way or one soon. We'll be living in our first house together and still traveling the world one vacation at a time!
