Weekend Recap {Vol. 18}

1/13/14

For the most part this weekend was very low key, but I can't say that I minded one bit. We saw friends, completed some chores {SEVEN loads of laundry... seven!}, watched a lot of football {GO PATS!} and started our new workout/healthy eating routine! Here are a few snippets-

Saturday morning I ran a TON of errands- grocery shopping, bank, feed store for Duke's food, dry cleaners, and TJ Maxx for pantry containers. Then I caught up on last weeks DVRed shows- Pretty Little Liars, Law & Order: SVU, and Chicago PD. I wasn't really impressed with the PLL episode, but I hate not watching it live {stupid OT at work}. Does anyone else hate not being able to watch shows live?

When T got home from work we both ran a mile on the treadmill... I hate running inside! But I did it and it wasn't bad at all. We made chicken fajitas & salads for dinner and then headed over to a friends house for a night of games and drinking. We stayed out wayyy past my bedtime, but had a great time!

Sunday started off realllyyyy slow, but T made delicious egg souffles for breakfast and then I got to work on the chores- cleaning, laundry, blog work, ect. Throw in a little football watching and walking the pup and that was the extent of our day. I made my grandpa's homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner, which was SO delicious :)

I also cleaned out my nightstand drawer. Love the clear tray organizer from Target!

I ended the weekend with an at home pedicure using the foot tub I got from my in-laws from Christmas and watching Revenge!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 17}

12/16/13

Bullet point weekend recap here we go!

  • Friday I got off work at 1pm and used my extra time to do some damage at Bath & Body Works since they were having their $8 candle sale and I had a $10 off $30 coupon! Stocked up on candles and got some Christmas presents for my girlfriends!
  • Friday night we had dinner with T's grandma at Max and Erma and had a great time. The chicken fingers were delicious of course ;)
  • We had 4 inches dumped on us Saturday and my poor husband got stuck at work for 15 hours. Cabin fever is an understatement. The one time I left the house was an attempt to walk Duke {pictured above} and it was an enormous fail. He did not like that much snow in between his little paws.
  • We were standing in line outside of Target at 7:45 Sunday morning in hopes of getting a PS4 and we did! My husband is one happy man :)
  • Sunday we celebrated Wigilia with my FIL's side of the family. It's a huge Polish celebration we have every year and it's always a lot of fun. I can't believe that I've gone for 7 years now! Pictures will come in my Christmas Recap post!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 16}

12/9/13

I said that I was going to get better about taking pictures this weekend and it didn't happen... again. I didn't take even take ONE picture on Thomas' birthday for pete's sake! But, despite not having any pictures we had an amazing weekend. So good that I didn't open my laptop once and for the most part stayed off of my phone! Anyway, here's a little recap with bullet points-

  • While T was at work Saturday I went to my grandparents to use grandma's new Kitchenaid stand mixer to make T's Cherry Chip birthday cake! Such a sweet machine :) I love being able to pop by and spend a little time with them whenever I want to.

Duke enjoyed chewing on his bone in front of the Christmas tree!

  • We had dinner at Bahama Breeze with T's parents and it was yummy just like it always is.
  • Then we met our friends at the bar to watch the MSU vs Ohio State football game and what a game it was! The boys were going crazy! Thomas said he'll always remember that MSU went to the Rose Bowl on his birthday LOL

  • We spent yesterday shopping- T treated me to my very first "legit" shopping spree! We also picked up a few Christmas presents. While we were walking Duke T said "You know, today was the first time in a while that I felt like a real married couple" and it's true. We had such a great day together, doing everyday things, and it was just the two of us. We need to have days like this more often!

What a studly 25 year old he is!

Not an insanely busy weekend where we're hurting now, but still a fun-filled one. My favorite kind :)

Weekend Recap {Vol. 15}

12/2/13

Am I the only one that feels even more exhausted after this long weekend?! I was dragging really hard this morning. And the long weekend didn't go exactly as planned. I had all of these items on my to do list that I never got to, couldn't sleep in {who knows why}, and now I'm counting down the days until Saturday again! However, we had a great Thanksgiving and I'm thankful that today starts a new week... now I just need to make sure it's a productive week! So here's a tiny recap on my long weekend with absolutely no pictures {FAIL!}-

Wednesday night we went out to the bar with some friends and enjoyed the Red Wings game. Thanksgiving day T had to work until 2:30 and then we headed straight to his Aunt's house for a delicious dinner with his family. Friday we spent the day at my grandparents with my family and then Friday night we went out to a Tavern with all of my girlfriends, my cousin who was in town from out of state, and some other friends. We had a great time, but boy was I tired the next day! Saturday we just hung out with T's family and then some of our friends. Sunday we went to see The Hunger Games in IMAX and it was amazing! So glad we saw it in IMAX :)

 Here's the only picture I managed to snap- Duke at the Christmas tree lot where my grandparents got their 14 FOOT tree! Can't wait to help them decorate it :)

Now I really need to get my butt in gear with these grad school applications! Wish me luck!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 14}

11/25/13

Even though we didn't have many plans this weekend it turned out pretty great. The perfect mixture of staying busy and relaxation! I should've known it was going to be a good weekend when I got off 2 hours early on Friday! :) I took Duke for a nice long walk when I got home, we picked up Wing Stop for dinner, and spent the rest of the evening just hanging out.

I had quite the productive morning Saturday while T was at work. I ventured out in the cold to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and then headed over to Target {my two favorite stores} to pick up a few things. I cleaned our bedroom, bathroom, and "apartment" in the basement. I love when our space is clean!
 Duke is a great cleaning supervisor!

Once everything was cleaned I bundled up and took Duke for a walk {it was 20 degrees not including wind chill}! This dog has no idea how good he has it ;)
PS- I love my dog walking fannypak! ;)

Once T got off work we spent a couple hours with our friends before going our separate ways- T to a "concert" with the guys and I had girls night with the girls! We ended up reading old notes that I had saved from middle school and high school! Talk about hilarious! We were crying from laughing so hard. It is amazing having the same best friends from elementary school :)

Since T stayed at his friends house overnight I let Duke sleep with me and this is what I woke up to Sunday morning! He is such a ham :)

The rest of Sunday looked like this-
Helping T with his math packet. My husband is the king of procrastination.

Having an early Thanksgiving meal with my family!

 Folding laundry... lots of laundry.

And watching the Patriots vs Broncos game!

It was a great weekend indeed! I hope everyone had a great weekend also :)

Weekend Recap {Vol. 13}

11/18/13

I've failed miserably taking pictures during our weekends for the past few weeks, so I apologize, but next weekend I'm going to try really hard to do a proper recap!

Friday I got off work early so Thomas and I decided to take Duke for a long walk and to the field so that he could run around. Next time we go I'll take a video, because it's one of the cutest things you'll ever see ;) We met our friends, Nieko and Karen, at TGIFridays for dinner and then we rented The Heat. I thought it was pretty funny... but no one else did LOL
Saturday was the first Saturday in which I didn't have any thing I needed to do or leave the house for! I stayed in my pajamas until Thomas got off work and it was glorious. I also cleaned, did some grad school application prep, so I was a little productive! Once T got home we headed to Target to pick up my bookcase! I can't wait to put it together :)

Sunday was a crappy day weather wise, so I'm glad we had indoor activities planned. We went to the Pet Expo with my in-laws and it was... interesting. Then we went to the gun range and had dinner with my grandparents. Around 8pm our power went out, due to the crazy storms, and it has yet to come back! Electricity is a beautiful thing and we can't wait to have it back LOL Thank God for Bath & Body Works 3-wick candles!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 12}

11/4/13

Unfortunately this weekend I completely failed at taking pictures, but I'm trying really hard to get back into my blogging routine.

Friday night we picked up Chinese food for dinner, which was delicious, and then watched Monsters University with two of our good friends. As a self-proclaim "animation hater" the movie was pretty good- I even laughed a few times :)

Saturday I spent the morning helping my grandma with memorial service items {poster boards, pictures, ect} and then headed home to watch the UofM vs MSU football game with the husband... who is the worst person in the world to watch that game with. He was SO loud and yelling and ugh... not sure I want to do that again. It didn't help that the Wolverines lost either. We got Wing Stop for dinner and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Sunday we spent the day running errands, giving Duke a bath {only his 3rd one!}, buying the husband another gun {Merry Christmas babe}, and doing laundry. I also watched 2 episodes of Revenge and need to watch last nights episode tonight!

So overall it was a pretty relaxing/uneventful weekend and I didn't mind one bit! Hope you all had a great weekend too :)

Weekend Recap {Vol. 11}

10/1/13

Here I am recapping our weekend a day late.. sometimes Monday's just don't go as planned ;) But it was a great weekend!

Friday night we went out to dinner with our friends to a local Mexican restaurant called Las Palapas that is delicious! It helps that two of my close girlfriends work there too. But the food was good and the company was great.
 Boots! Scarfs!

After dinner we headed to an Oktoberfest festival {I'm not sure if that's the right term..} where we met up with Thomas' cousins and had a great time chatting and drinking. Next year we're definitely hoping to make it to Frankenmuth's Oktoberfest!
 Thomas' cousin Matt doing some crazy German drinking... thing lol

Saturday morning consisted of errands and watching One Tree Hill with my sleepy pup.

Once Thomas got off work we headed to the Cider Mill! We picked up fresh cider and spiced donuts and then headed to Newburgh Lake! One of the best things about fall in Michigan! :)

 Duke was not amused lol

 I took a billion pictures of the goof ball with his head sticking out of the window!

 My baby!

It was a perfect fall day!

Then we wrapped up Saturday night with watching Iron Man 3 with Thomas' parents. It was alright... felt kind of slow.

Sunday we cleaned, did laundry, went shopping, and then had dinner with my grandparents!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 10}

9/16/13

This past weekend was exactly what I needed! The perfect mixture of relaxation, checking things off of my to-do list, and spending time with some of my favorite people. I love weekends like this :)

Saturday started with morning Duke snuggles :) Since the weather has dropped drastically he'll finally lay in our bed for more than two minutes!We actually laid together for about an hour. I really cherish these moments!

Once Duke was walked and I was showered I headed to Bed Bath & Beyond. I forgot how much I love that store! And of course I picked up a bunch of containers/organizers LOL

Then I spent the rest of the day in the basement moving things around and cleaning while waiting for the delivery men to show up with our couch. And when they did I had a full blown panic attack, because they said the couch wouldn't fit down the stairs and left it in the garage. Once Thomas got home from work we had to move the couch and it took about an hour because we had to take down the door frame! It was emotionally and physically draining to say the least. BUT we got it down stairs with only one minor rip thank God. And it is amazing :)

After that fiasco was done we headed over to our friends house for dinner and a fire! We had a great time and Duke loves playing with their puppy Lola. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.

Sunday looked like this and it was so blissful ;)

I also did five loads of laundry, made a trip to Petco, and went to my cousins soccer game in the rain. We ended the day with Sunday Night Football ;) I'd say it was a great weekend!

Weekend Recap {Vol. 9}

9/3/13

I still can't believe that the holiday weekend is over and that it's back to work. We had quite the long weekend...

So let me start off with Friday night.. Duke had a play date here {at my in-laws house} with Lola, my friend's 3 month old puppy. They had a great time and we were confident that both pups would sleep great, so when Duke started to cry five minutes after we put him to bed I figured he just had to go to the bathroom again.. BUT it was storming out and  he wouldn't go anywhere near the door. So I grabbed a pillow and his blanket and made him lay on the floor with me until he fell asleep and he did as you can see in this adorable picture..

After a while I put him back in his crate and called it a night even though he whined for a couple more minutes. Saturday morning rolls around and I'm awoken by a call from T saying Duke ate a pen... okay. and? AND HE GOT BLUE PAW PRINTS ALL OVER THE HOUSE AND LOOKED LIKE A SMURF. AND THREW UP SAID INK.
So he actually wasn't crying about the storm or having to go to the bathroom, he was crying because he ate the inside tube of a pen. Poor baby, but if I wasn't so worried about him I would've been realllyyyy pissed. It took us forever to get the ink out of the rug. Ugh.

After that mess was cleaned and I was certain that he didn't have lead poisoning I did my usual Saturday errands- Meijer, bank, and stopping by my grandparents house to eat lunch. When I got back home I went straight to work downstairs in the basement.. and stayed there until 6pm.

My "workspace"

.. things are slowlyyyy coming together.

I also went through the majority of our boxes and reorganized things... I have issues.

To take a break and spend some time outside T and I went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner and then played a round of mini golf- one of our favorite activities!
T beat me by 3, but it was a beautiful evening and we had a lot of fun! We even stopped for frozen custard on our way home! Perfect summer date night :)

Sunday morning we spent around the house doing chores and then we spent the rest of the day at my grandparents. We just hung out, grandma went to Michaels with me while T helped my grandpa with a few things around the house, and we ate dinner there. From there we headed to a friends house to go swimming and took Duke along so that he could play with Max!! Both pups swam in their pool for the first time! Duke was half terrified and half excited LOL

Monday morning we woke up early and headed to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek! It was different than any other zoo I've ever been to, but we still had a good time :) We fed the giraffes, which was cool.

And then we were welcomed home by this cutie :)

I'd say it was a pretty great holiday weekend!
