DITL- College Senior Edition

4/16/13

I finally completed a DITL (Day in the Life)! I've been attempting to do one for years and I just could never got through the entire day. I can't say that my days are all that exciting, but they are definitely busy. I know that when I graduate (in FOURTEEN days!) I'll miss being this busy. And I think this will be really fun to look back on.

Thursday April 11, 2013

Woke up at 8am and I usually lay in bed for a few minutes catching up on Twitter and Instagram. Then I hop in the shower while T takes Duke outside and feeds him. Once out of the shower I do my morning routine ;)

Once I'm dressed I put on my makeup and do my hair. (I really need to buy a full length mirror for our next place).

The demon puppy is tied up because he was misbehaving and now it's T's turn to get ready while I pack my bag. Since we're so behind on laundry I throw in a load and then Duke goes in his crate waiting for a treat before we leave for class.

It's pouring outside which is no fun. Class is.. class haha Then I get to work- I work as a Student Receptionist in one of the departments on campus. Yummy lunch! I'm going to miss that chili more than anything.

Once I finish my work for the day I do a little Pretty Little Liars reading. I fly through those books when I have time to read. Walking over to the speech clinic in my Hunter Wellies and rain coat. Therapy room all set up! I also have a meeting after therapy with my group and supervisor.

While waiting for T to pick me up I send my Grandparents a email because they're currently in London! T and I have started tanning to get our bodies ready for the Caribbean sun. Once home I read a couple of blog posts while snacking on Pepper Rings. Left over Ribs from Applebee's for dinner- I know it doesn't look very appetizing, but I promise it was!

Catch up on some DVR while T plays a computer game. Do another load of laundry. Cuddle on the couch with Duke while he sucks on the blanket... and read a little more Pretty Little Liars.

I met two of my friends at Buffalo Wild Wings for .50 wings and drinks. Put on my PJs. Get ready for bed. Check Twitter/Instagram one last time and curl up next to my hubby <3

Apartment Tour | Living Room

4/14/13

This is the second to last apartment tour post, which is perfect timing because we move out in 3 weeks (and one of them being while we're gone on vacation)! We're moving in with my in-laws for a couple of months while T starts summer classes, I search for a job, and we search for a house to rent on the East side of the state! That's one of the reasons I really wanted to document our first apartment :) Onto the tour...

I spy a little puppy chewing on something that he isn't supposed to...

One thing this apartment definitely lacked was decorations (the picture frame doesn't even have pictures in it for Pete's sake!) and it'll be something I definitely change in our next place! Hello Pinterest :)

My grandparents got us this storage cube thing for Christmas & I love it! We couldn't really put anything on the shelves because of a certain dog that likes to chew on everything, but I'm excited to find a way to decorate it!

When we moved in I put all of our DVDs into binders and it saved so much space!

The few video games we have!

And what's on the other side of the room! Now that T is here he spends 70% of his time home at the desk and I'm at the dinning table.

We got so many drinking glassware for the wedding that I knew we had to find a bar cart!

And there you have it :) Next Sunday I'll post what's in our closets, because we have a ton for a one bedroom apartment (4 that aren't the linen closet or the bedroom closet)!

Apartment Tour | Bedroom

3/31/13

Happy Easter to those who celebrate this holiday! T and I are at home enjoying time with our families and remembering what this day is really about. Even though we're visiting family I still wanted to post the next installment of the apartment tour so here's a closer look into our bedroom! I LOVED the size of this room and I know that it's what I'm going to miss the most about this apartment.

 Love this everyday jewelry holder!

This closet is HUGE! The left side is all storage.

Love these organizers from Target especially the purse one :)

Only two more posts left: the living room/main room and the closets!

Life Lately

3/26/13

I initially intended on this being a Day in the Life post, but I just couldn't stick with taking the pictures this past weekend. I'm going to attempt to do it again this Thursday so we'll see how that goes. So since I failed at that post I figured I pop in and talk about what's going on in our life lately :)

  • I picked up my cap and gown last Wednesday and graduation is less than five weeks away! It wasn't really sinking in that this was my final semester of Undergrad, that I'd be graduating from Western at the end of it, ect. It hit like a ton of bricks last Wednesday though that's for sure! I'm so excited. I'm proud. I'm ready for a break. I'm the first person in my family to get their Bachelors degree so as much as I don't like to admit it- it's a pretty big deal ;)
  • And since graduation is less than five weeks away that means that we leave for our cruise in less than five weeks as well! We've had this vacation planned for almost a year and I can't believe that it'll be here before we know it! Everything is booked and paid for, 99% of everything is purchased that we need to take, and I've been on Carnival's website everyday looking at the activities to do on our ship, the menus, ect.
  • As you saw in yesterday's P 52 post- Duke graduated Puppy Kindergarten and is slowly getting better at home. We're still trying to fix his stomach issues and hopefully we'll figure it out soon. I just wish we knew what caused it and for it to go away! We've made it mandatory that we walk him every single day no matter what and it seems to be helping his behavior at home. We have a very energetic puppy on our hands.
  • We started packing up the apartment this past weekend. Just a couple of clothes bins, extra bathroom items (um.. I have way too many products), and all of my scrapbooks. We are going to take as many bins/things home these next two weekend visits so that we have less to do when we get back from the cruise. I wish that the weather was nicer so that we could enjoy Kzoo our last few weekends here.
  • The hubs and I have been watching Game of Thrones every night before bed so that I can be up to date when the new season starts Sunday! It's definitely not my favorite show, but I enjoy watching shows with T that we both like.
  • I spent a good chunk of time this past weekend looking for a graduation outfit and I think I found it! I just need to try on the shoes and make sure that I can walk in them first.Haha
 What do ya think?!

Apartment Tour | Bathroom

3/24/13

I'm back this week with a closer look at our bathroom :)

View from the door.. it is so hard to take a picture because it's so small!

One of my favorite things about the bathroom is this little container LOL

The products in the medicine cabinet are constantly changing..

 T's drawer

 My drawer

 The world's narrowest linen closet!

Top shelf: medicine/ first aid/ ect

Second shelf: Obnoxious amount of products!

Third shelf: My bath/shower products! All of my LUSH products are in the pull out drawer

Fourth shelf: Towels.. always washing towels.
And the bottom shelf: Extra products and travel size items!

Shower caddy

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll be back next week with a closer look at our bedroom!

Apartment Tour | Kitchen

3/17/13

Since we're moving out of our apartment shortly (less than 2 months) I wanted to make sure that I thoroughly documented our first place together so here I am! I don't want to title this a series because I already have 2 weekly series going on, but if I'm being honest that's exactly what this is. My apologies. As the title implies the first room I'm showing is the kitchen! Being completely honest I am not the cook of our family and could care less about a kitchen as long as there is enough storage room and functional organization. When we go house hunting I hope that sentence doesn't bite me in the butt! Now onto the pictures...

 A full overview

 Our Keurig stash ;)

Check back next Sunday for a look at the bathroom!
