P 52 Catch Up | Weeks 27 - 33

8/18/13

I've been meaning to post these for a few weeks now but just haven't gotten around to it. The majority of these pictures have already been posted here on the blog, but I make these posts more for me than anyone else so feel free to skip ;)

{WEEK 27} This week we celebrated my great-grandma's 90th birthday party! She is such an amazing woman and too busy opening her present instead of looking at the camera.

{WEEK 28} This week T and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary and this was the only picture we took. Fail.

{WEEK 29} This weekend we spent at T's cousins' house enjoying Margarita Sunday!

{WEEK 30} I will have to edit this one in.. I'm not sure I took a picture :(

{WEEK 31} We visited some friends in Grand Rapids and went tubing on the Muskegon River!

{WEEK 32} We celebrated my 23rd birthday! Love my family <3

{WEEK 33} We celebrated the "end" of summer with a pool party at T's cousins house!

P52 Catchup | Weeks 23, 24, 25, 26

7/2/13

I decided that since I have started posting weekend recaps I'd post all of my Project 52 pictures together at the end of the month/beginning of the next month. A lot of the pictures are duplicates and I thought about not posting them all together, but since I started it that way I want to finish it the same!

{WEEK 23} I snapped this picture during one of our nightly walks. That face kills me!

{WEEK 24} He's still a little unsure of his pool so that's something we need to keep working on! And next summer we're definitely going to have to get him a bigger one haha

{WEEK 25} We took a spur of the moment trip to Toledo, Ohio to see a MudHens game. We had a great time and spent wayyyy too much money haha We also discovered that Toledo is basically shut down on the weekends! LOL

{WEEK 26} We spent the weekend at a friends house on Torch Lake! I recapped our trip here!

P 52 | Weeks 20, 21, 22

6/3/13

Week 20 | The time has come- I've finally started running! In fact I ran a 5k yesterday for the first time (since middle school anyway!) It definitely hasn't been easy and I'm having the most difficulty with regulating my breathing, but I'm proud that I'm sticking with it and I hope that one day it'll become more enjoyable. I plan on writing a more in depth  post on this topic one day soon so be on the lookout!

Week 21 | Sir Duke and I spent Memorial Day weekend at my grandparents while T went camping with his cousins (the weather was too crappy for my first "real" camping experience). It felt like a sleepover all weekend! Grandma and I shopped, Duke and Grandpa worked in the yard, and we even took Duke to the parade! However, I forgot to take my camera so here's a picture of him sitting on top of the stairs waiting for my brother to get home from work lol

Week 22 | We are officially a two car family now and the beauty above is allll mine ;) T let me pick out the color and everything! We wanted something American and that had low monthly payments. The Cruze is a perfect fit. I can't wait to personalize (and maybe even name) her!

A weekend recap will be posted later tonight after I get off work :)

P 52 | Week 19

5/13/13

This past week has been insanely hectic! We got back from our vacation last Saturday night, had a family birthday party all day Sunday, drove back to our apartment Monday and packed up everything, I had a job interview Wednesday (& I GOT IT!), T started classes on Thursday, and then we moved everything out of our apartment on Saturday. Phew! With that being said, I admit that these pictures were taken with my iPhone and not my dSLR.

The 20 foot moving truck all loaded up! And it only took us 1.5 hours!

Our new bedroom at my in-laws is slowly coming together! I'll post more pictures once we're finished.

P 52 | Weeks 16, 17, 18

5/9/13

Why hello there blog world! So many things have happened since I last posted- I graduated from Western Michigan University, the hubs and I went on our honeymoon cruise (we had an AMAZING time), we've moved in with my in-laws, and if all the paperwork goes well I have a new job! Talk about a whirlwind! We've been home since Sunday and I still feel SO behind on everything, so apologized.

Week 16: Flashcards, textbooks, and studying for my last round of finals in my undergrad! Can't say that I'll miss this weeks.

Week 17: I did it!! After 5 long and trying years I completed my Bachelors degree and celebrated with my favorite people <3

Week 18: Husband, open ocean, flip flops, and honeymoon! It was the perfect vacation and I wish I could go back right now!

P 52 | Weeks 13, 14, & 15

4/15/13

I'm so sorry I fell behind on posting my weekly P 52 pictures, but we've been out of town the past two weekends and not driving home until Monday morning which makes it hard to import the picture from my camera, tag it, and write a post! The good news is that I didn't stop taking them! One of my goals for this summer is to get more creative (with pictures, my blog, ect).

Week 13: He is seriously such a ham! We spent the weekend in our hometown with our families for Easter, but T changed out of his Easter clothes before we could snap a picture! Fail. This cutie pie makes up for it though ;)

Week 14: We clearly need to work on our tripod/timing pictures haha Anyway, we went to the Detroit Tigers baseball game with a group of our friends last Saturday. While it was a lot of fun it was also freezing! Definitely not going to a game in April again. The jacket and shirt were our Easter gifts to one another :)

Week 15: We started packing this weekend and I'm already overwhelmed! T starts class on Thursday May 9th at 8:30am and we don't get back from the cruise until May 6th! So I'm trying to pack as much as I can beforehand. I hate moving. LOL

P 52 | Week 12

3/25/13

Obviously this picture wasn't taken with my Rebel and some might consider this cheating, but I don't care because Duke graduating Puppy Kindergarten was the highlight of our week! He is such a smarty pants IN CLASS and the minute we walk into our apartment he throws 98% of what he knows out the window! When he wasn't getting sick or guarding the water dish he really enjoyed playing with the other puppies and we can't wait to get him enrolled in a once a week doggy day care! Or for the weather to get nice so that we can take him to the dog park. Damn snow!

P 52 | Week 11

3/18/13

Happy St. Patty's Day! I never really celebrate the day even though I'm Irish, but this year T & I wore our KCCO shirts! This is my first (in many, many years) and only green article of clothing! You'd think that I'd own more seeing as I have "red" hair ;) Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

And because I can never have a photoshoot without a photo of me with my fur baby! He's getting SO big!

P 52 | Week 10

3/11/13

Yesterday the weather was BEAUTIFUL, high 60's/low 70's so Duke and I spent a lot of time in my in-laws backyard just soaking up the nice weather and playing. We can't wait for this to become an everyday occurrence! This winter has been way too long and cold.

P 52 | Week 9

3/4/13

(& this ladies and gentlemen is what I look like right after getting out of the shower)

Poor Duke got neutered this past Friday. We picked him up late in the afternoon and other than being pissed at us, he seemed like his normal self. We said we wanted a cone (that would've been a great picture opportunity), but one of the tech's talked us out of it saying 98% of puppies don't bother their incision... ya not our pup. So we've spent the past 3 days watching his every move and holding him A LOT. Although I don't mind the latter it is definitely time consuming and a good thing that T and I are on spring break.

And just for fun here's a cute outtake :)

P 52 | Week 8

2/25/13

For those of you who don't know- I am an organizing FREAK! I like having a specific place for everything. I could spend hundreds of dollars at The Container Store any given day (if there was actually one in Michigan)! I freak out when things are.. well.. unorganized. Unfortunately organize isn't even in my husband's vocabulary and he doesn't understand (or really support) my desire for a super organized home. So when tiny things like the top drawer of my nightstand finally becomes organized or having a storage container for all of his ammo I get SUPER giddy! My organizing juices start flowing and I want to keep organizing everything else. And that's exactly what happened this past week. I went to Target alone and walked out with the tray in this picture and a container for T to store his ammo in (among other things). Now I'm heading back to Target tonight to find containers for the bottom nightstand drawer and all of my travel items. Does an organized home make anyone else feel this free?!

I'm going to try to start posting more organizing tips here as they come about and I've already planned a series for when we take our cruise in April so look forward to that ;)

P52 | Week 7

2/18/13

Valentines Day was extra special this year, because it was the first one we've actually been together for in four years! Like I said in my Friday Letters post Vday isn't the biggest holiday for T & I, but it was nice to go out. T picked me up from class at 5:30, we hurried home, exchanged gifts, fed Duke, and hurried out the door. As you can see in the picture above T bought tickets to see Safe Haven ahead of time and therefore we didn't have any wiggle room. We were going to have dinner at home, but nothing was thawed so we decided to pick something up on the way to the theater. BIG MISTAKE. We went to Qdoba first and the line was out the door so we headed to Panera and had to SCARF down our food. We made it to the theater just in time to get decent seats. It was a great evening even if it didn't go exactly as planned!

PS- Sorry for the lame picture, but we don't have a tripod yet (I'm hoping this will change ASAP- maybe even tomorrow) so it's extremely difficult to take pictures of the both of us without someone else taking it.

P52 | Week 6

2/11/13

Like I mentioned in my previous post, my husband's grandpa passed away last Sunday on February 3rd. Thankfully we got to see him on Saturday and say our goodbyes while hanging out with a few members of our family. Grandpa Frick was an amazing man. He had 8 children, 32 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren! Talk about a family tree! When he was able to he went to church every single morning and his faith was the most important thing in the world to him. He served in World War II and worked at the IRS. He LOVED highballs and sports. He was funny even if that wasn't his plan. The whole family will forever miss him, but we all know that he is in a much better place and loving Heaven. RIP <3

P52 | Week 5

2/9/13

Life has been crazy busy these past few weeks! I was preparing for my first exams of the semester, Hubs grandpa passed away, and we've been driving back and forth across state to be with our family while staying on top of our school work! I apologize for disappearing, but sometimes life off of the internet is more important!

I also started working with my first SLP client at school two weeks ago (after 2 cancellations due to snow days)! To say that I was nervous is a huge understatement, but I feel like I'm slowly getting the hang of things and I adore my client. I've spent a lot of time planning lessons and finding fun activities to do. These are just a few of the activities that we've been working on!

Other big news from this past week is that Duke has moved on to his big boy crate! He was getting way too big for his old one, his ears were sticking out of the top. Haha I think he approves of his new crib ;)

1/27/13

This weekend I did something that I don't do nearly enough: cleaned my makeup brushes. And my gosh were they disgusting! I need to make it a point to do this more often, especially since I'm ordering the Sigma Mr. Bunny kit soon and I'm going to make sure to take good care of them.

Currently I have an assortment of brush brands, but I clean them all the same. I use warm water, Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo, a towel, and Brush Guards! The Brush Guards are great for keeping the shape of the brushes and for traveling too!

Yesterday I ordered the Brush Guard Cleaning Kit and can't wait to get it! I'll definitely post a review once it arrives.  I bought the two variety packs I have at Meijer and I've heard that they're sold at Walmart as well.

P52 | Week 3

1/24/13

This is how Duke likes to spend snow days! Laying next to the door wall and longing to be playing outside in the snow. It's moments like this when I forget how frustrating/difficult he can be!

P52 | W1 & W2

1/16/13

Week One: Here's my little family of three on New Years Eve (I wasn't joking when I said that I am committed to taking 52 pictures this year)! Both of my boys look great, but DAMN I am a ghost! 98% of the time I embrace my paleness, but MI needs to step it up in the vitamin D department!

Week Two: Here I am with my fur baby Duke at my in-laws house before we headed back to Kalamazoo (I'm apologizing in advance- I bet at least 50% of my pictures will include his cute butt)!

I'm having a little technical difficulties and can't get this paragraph to go above the pictures so it's stuck down here. Anywho- I know that I'm already a little behind on my blogging plans for the new year, but now that we have our new schedule down it should will get better! Here are my tentative plans:
Monday: P52
Wednesday: Wedding Recap Wednesday
Friday: Friday Favorites
Saturday/Sunday: Whatever happens to pop in my mind!

I also have a note saved onto my phone with blog post ideas & I'm always open to suggestions ;)

I've learned these past two weeks that having a puppy and going to school/work/clinic full time makes things a little tricky. So I just have to get in the habit to watermark/upload at home while the puppy is sleeping/not being a maniac and then actually writing the posts while I'm at work (like I am now)!

Two weeks down! Fifty to go! :)
