April Goals

4/8/14

I know we're already a week into April, but better late than never right?! But first, let's go back to last months goals and see how I did.

MARCH GOALS

1. Finish photography class and book- Didn't quite happen, but I have it on my to do list for this week. I can't wait to get outside once the rain goes away and practice :)
2. Run the entire St. Patty's Day 5k- Completed! I wrote about it here
3. Make changes- Completed! I purchased a new hair dryer and have worn my hair down ~10 times this past month, which is a HUGE improvement. I've also worn makeup to work a few times, clean up our "spaces" before leaving for work, have been drinking a lot more water, working out everyday, ect. So I'd definitely say this was accomplished.
4. Write more- Considering where I started last month I'd say I've completed this, but I still have room to improve!
5. Start a gratitude journal- Completed.... and I'm loving it!

APRIL GOALS

1. Finish photography class and book- I can read during the rainy April days and practice during the sunny ones :)
2. Run once/week- We're running two races in June so I need to fit running into my weekly schedule.
3. Complete P90X3 daily workout- we're 10 days in and going strong.
4. Go on an outdoor date- with the weather finally getting warmer I want to be outside as much as possible, so hopefully one weekend we can! Maybe mini golf or a bike ride or a game of tennis.
5. Figure out what's next- by the end of this month we should know my status with grad school so it'll be time to make some big decisions. Hopefully it all goes smoothly.

What are your goals for this month?

Thursday Thoughts {Vol. 21}

3/27/14

It's been a looooong time since I've done one of these weekly brain dump posts! Possibly over a month... yikes! So what random things are going on with me?

I'm the proud new owner of an iPad Mini! My laptop has been getting crappier by the week, but I didn't want to purchase another one due to how infrequently I use it. So I decided to get the iPad and a wireless keyboard case. My case comes in today and I'm really excited to put it to use {and to stop lugging my laptop to work}! Any must have apps I need to get? PS- why isn't there an Instagram app available for iPad?! There was one on my Nook/Android tablet.

Speaking of the iPad I started a new book today on Allison's recommendation- Gone Girl! I usually don't follow the hype on popular books {I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey and never will}, but Allison's review made me really curious. Especially because I loveeee crime stories! Do you guys have any book recommendations?

Thomas and I are starting P90X3 tomorrow. I'm really only doing it to make my husband happy, but I'm terrified. Thank God it's only 30 minutes/day, because I loose my workout drive right around that time. I'll let everyone know how it goes... if I don't die.

We're slowly making our way through Dexter on Netflix, currently in season 5. I love that Julia Stiles is in this season and I'm eager to find out where this storyline goes. While I'm still entertained and loving this series I'm ready to finish it and move onto another- I've been having way too many creepy dreams.

Work has been incredibly draining lately... ever since the youngest girl turned 4 {a couple weeks ago} she has become awful sassy and needs a lot of guidance/discipline. It doesn't help that we're STILL cooped up inside 90% of the time! It's getting a little warmer, between 30 and 40 degrees, but still not warm enough to spend hours outside. Spring where are youuuu?
