Where I've Been..

6/1/13

This past month has been a complete whirlwind! I graduated college, we went on a cruise, moved out of our apartment and into T's parents house, we both started new jobs and T started a new semester of college. I honestly can't remember the last time we were this busy. I'm so far behind on the "internet world", have a to do list a mile long, and don't foresee things slowly down anytime soon. BUT here I am and I'm going to attempt to wrap up this past month in one extra long post!

  • I guess I'll start of with my graduation! I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and minoring in Psychology. It was a great (and emotional) day for my family seeing as I'm the first one to graduate college. I can't believe that I'm really done and that I won't be going back to class in the fall. It still hasn't hit me- the part about not going back to school in the fall. However, as I've mentioned here before I do need a master's degree so I will be going back hopefully next year to complete that. I start studying for the GRE again today.
     I'll always be a Bronco!

     My two closest speechies :)

    My incredible family!

  • The morning after graduation T and I boarded a flight to Tampa for our overdue honeymoon. It was definitely worth the wait and we had such an amazing time! I'll be recapping the trip in more detail over the next couple of weeks ;)
    A little spoiler ;)

  • Up next was the big move- we moved out of our apartment in Kalamazoo and into my in-laws house back in our home town. It's been quite the adjustment, but we are so thankful that we have this option and that it's working pretty nicely. Eventually I plan to write more about this topic, but I need to get caught up with everything else first!
  • A few days later I started working at a daycare as a lead teacher in the young preschool room (ages 2-3). I usually have 6 kiddos and they're definitely a lot of work. It's not the best job and I am still applying/looking for other jobs, but it's better than nothing. It's giving me a lot of experience (the only I've had so far) with children so that will be handy one day in about ten years. Last week T also started a part time job as a delivery truck driver for a local fundraising company and is enjoying it so far. I'm so thankful that he didn't have a rough time finding something after being "unemployed" for the past 7 months since he got out of the Army.
  • Duke is just as much of a trouble maker as before. We're slowly seeing improvements and for such a big adjustment (my in-laws have two yorkies) I'd say he was doing pretty well. We got him a new vet and he has his first appointment with them on Friday. We've been socializing him A LOT which is great, because we couldn't really in Kalamazoo. We take him for at least one walk a day, but usually two. He's already full size and we're hoping that he'll start to mellow out even more over the next few months.
  • When we're not working/exhausted we're catching up with our friends, exercising (more on this Monday!) and trying to spend time together. I've spent a lot of time thinking about the best routine for our new schedules/lives and hopefully it'll work. I've missed blogging and documenting our everyday lives. I plan on spending the rest of the night (it's currently 8:30 on Saturday) writing posts, editing pictures, and organizing my planner so that I'll have some content posted this week!
Phew that was long! That's what I get for disappearing ;)
